Snow White

from Snow White by Marrison Duke

/

lyrics

Skin white as snow
and lips blood red
Her hair speaks of sorrow
ebony black
A dark coat shrouds her like a letter in cold print
Her eyes tell the story of the grief she’s in

Chorus:
Snow white - beauty in pitch black
No might to break her ruthless fate
Snow white - beauty in pitch black
A sight so pure but ever slain

The sun breaks the day
as words break her
Venom from the mouths
for her skin is so fair
She stares at her reflection - a face she barred
An appearance like a negative of the man-made star

She lies in the sun
where sneer put her
Her skin burns like fire
to blood it turns
One last page in her diary and all it said was
“I can only die alone or live stone-dead.”
